The members of The Judas Goat never actually planned to perform again. This team simply used their first names as a reflection of their apathy for modern music in 2006. Dave, Nancy, Eric, and Jim were all battling demons of their own: each member of the band was getting a divorce, several were dealing with family deaths and suicides, and as cliched as rock 'n roll can too often be, some of the members were dealing with drug and alcohol abuse. Despite what was happening behind the scenes, The Judas Goat quickly discovered that their music actually was catching the ear of others feeling the ruts of post-'80s highs and indie '90s grudge, both in their review mirror, the band was navigating a dark road without a map. The Judas Goat didn't try to create anything musically, they just didn't care anymore. Most of the time they were not all in the studio at the same time. Yet each member of the band cared about everything that they had not been able to achieve yet in the sunset of their live performance careers. Their anti-mainstream music melodies not only captured the dark atmosphere they were trying to create for their personal satisfaction but that it had an appeal to a much larger audience than originally expected. combine elements of Industrial, Progressive, and Goth rock to create a sound all their own. Like all shooting stars that burned too fast and too bright, The Judas Goat's short-lived lived career was truly like A Brilliant Suicide. Delinquent Records is proud to re-release their self-titled debut EP, aptly retitled: A Brilliant Suicide.
